Care & Maintenance

Washcare

Tips for Longevity

Tips for Longevity

Our naturally dyed garments are unique, and proper care will ensure they last beautifully. To preserve vibrant colours and delicate fibres, treat your clothes gently with love and attention.

  • Gentle Cleaning: Use a soft, pH-neutral detergent and always dilute it in water before washing. Instead of soaking, we recommend dipping your garment to maintain colour integrity and prevent bleeding.
  • Dry with Care: Avoid drying in direct sunlight, as UV rays can fade the colours and affect the texture of the fabric. Dry in the shade to keep your clothes looking fresh and vibrant.
  • Separate Washing: Wash bright and dark-coloured garments separately to avoid colours transferring between fabrics. Always turn clothes inside out before washing, and avoid bleach or harsh chemicals to protect the dye.

  •  Air Drying: There's no need to wash after every use. Let your clothes air dry naturally to refresh them, removing surface dirt without overwashing. This also helps prevent fading and fabric wear.
  • Minimal Washing: The less you wash, the longer the fabric will last. For light use, simply air dry your clothes to avoid unnecessary washing and preserve their beauty.
  • Storage: Store your garments in their original packaging or a cool, dry place to protect them from dust and light exposure.

With a little care, your naturally dyed pieces will continue to tell their story, staying as vibrant and beautiful as the day you first wore them.

Caution

While the colours are vibrant and lasting, certain factors can affect the appearance of your naturally dyed garments. Here are some things to keep in mind:

  • Perspiration: Although temporary, sweat may cause the colour to appear lighter. Always ensure your garment is air-dried in the shade after each wear.
  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Perfumes, deodorants, and strong soaps or detergents can fade or bleach plant-based dyes.
  • Acidic Foods: Spills from acidic foods can damage the colour, so handle them with care.
  • Metals: Iron, copper, and other metals can stain the fabric, especially when damp. Keep them away from your garment to preserve its colour.

By following these simple precautions, you can keep your naturally dyed pieces looking fresh and vibrant for years to come.
